  • jjsonp, I agree that force of arms will not solve all conflicts, but why are we (collectively western governments) attempting this in Iraq which is supported by OUR corporations and OUR oil supplies, and not in other theatres of conflict.

  • Thank you to you both, I feel this needs not be a call for action, but a call for recognition. I have been in and out of areas similar to this one for many years now and the scene that confronted me in Katanga was possibly the most horrific, and yet I hadn't even heard that much about it.

  • What concerns me is the number of working poor, here in Australia there is an estimated 15% of population (remember that figure from somewhere and will look for it shortly) of wage earners are on or below the poverty line!

  • Yes, more troops are needed to prevent an escalation in sectarian violence and complete civil war in Iraq. My question is: Is the loss of another 3000 Allied (read as primarily American) soldiers lives in Iraq a cost worth paying?
